NEW YORK, NEW YORK, UNITED STATES, July 20, 2018 /EINPresswire.com/ — Taking place at the iconic Greek Revival venue Cipriani’s at 55 Wall Street on the evening of July 18, CONSINEE GROUP, China’s largest spinner and exporter of cashmere yarn, debuted a runway show meant to demonstrate the full range of their yarn technology and capabilities for international client brands.

The show, first of its kind and scale offered by a Chinese textile company in the U.S., was aptly titled “Into the Lines”, alluding to the conceptual interpretation of cashmere yarn. The show’s 100-feet runway built under Cipriani’s 70-feet dome saw 99 looks presented, spanning casual and occasion wear, all knitted from Consinee’s proprietary cashmere yarn series creations.

Timed to coincide with the annual Spin Expo, a large industry presence of nearly 400 fashion insiders were present at the show, including representatives from leading fashion brands and Consinee’s long-time US clients.
This debut show was under the creative direction of Chinese-German designer Yujia Zhai-Petrow, a consultant with Valentino Haute Couture in Paris.

“Rather than presenting a conventional knitwear collection,” she said, “ the ’Into the Lines’ show contemplates and explores the luxury of cashmere and its sundry potentials activated through a synthesis with new disciplines.” Other members of the design team for this collection also include Jane Sked and Steven Oo.

Salt Lake City-based painter, Holly Addi sees beauty in the imperfect. Her work is based on life’s imperfections and how it relates back to beauty and the magical phenomenon how it all works together. “My art style is ‘composition of imperfectionism’ and how to embrace the wonder, rather than question it; the good, the bad, the evil, the weeds, the flowers, all of it. And at the end, you look at it, and see beauty through it all,” she explains.

A creative since childhood, Addi went on to study Psychology at the University of Utah. Often about her audience’s contact with architecture and basic living elements; energy (heat, light, water), space and landscape are examined in less obvious ways. By not referencing specific recognizable forms, Addi deconstructs in order to shift meaning and create open interpretation for the viewer.

And you just have to keep fiddling away with it and then hope that it meets what they're expecting.”

The six original styles draw from various cultures and mythologies, following the founder's passion for mythos and spirituality. Each sophisticated piece was designed to help the wearer channel power and grace.

The Apollo, Shaman, Hades, and Horus are carefully crafted from python skin while Shiva and Karma contain stingray skin.

Each piece exudes the characteristics of its namesake. For example, the Apollo's clean lines and simple elegance harken back to ancient Greece, from where this python bracelet draws its name. Similarly, the Horus is characterized by a simple double band and precious metal detailing. This piece also draws inspiration from ancient gods – this time from the Egyptian god of the sky.

Karma, one of the stingray bracelet collections, hails from Yama, the Tibetan god of Justice. Its double bands represent the spiritual principle of cause and effect. This stingray bracelet includes precious metals and Swarovski diamonds.
